Geographical position:
Albania is located in the Western part of the Balkan Peninsula, at the coast of the Adriatic Sea. The Strait of Otranto, 75 km wide, separates Albania from Italy. On land Albania borders by Yugoslavia, Macedonia & Greece.

Republic. The head of the state is the President (is elected by the Parliament for 5-year term). The legislature is one-chamber parliament - National Assembly (155 seats).
Climate:
The climate in Albania is Mediterranean, with dry hot summer (24-25° C) & mild rainy winter (8-9° C). In mountains, in winter snow lies within several months.
