    • Miscellaneous: The nature of Lebanon is extremely picturesque. For the particular reason Lebanon is called 'middle East Switzerland' and 'the pearl of the Mediterranean'. Two mountain ridges cross the country from the north to the south. The western Lebanon Mountains stretches along narrow coastal plain buried in verdure of orange groves and banana plantations. There are a lot of oaks, Syrian maples, laurels, wild olive trees on the slopes of mountains inverted to the sea; closer to the tops there are thickets of juniper and spinney of the Lebanese cedar which silhouette is represented on a national flag of Lebanon. In the east part of the country, along border on Syria, rocky unapproachable mountains of Anti-Lebanon, where there are karstic caves with 'crystal' leakages of stalactites and stalagmites were stretched. Between two parallel mountains ridges the valley - graben Bekkaa is situated, along it the biggest river of the country - Nahr al Litani flows. The southern part of Bekkaa valley is considered to be a granary of Lebanon: each piece of ground was diligently cultivated here during centuries. The geographical position of Lebanon has determined its transformation into the important shopping center. The Lebanese shops always amazed tourists with a great variety and abundance of the goods delivered from different parts of the world.
