- Geographical position:
Malawi state is located in southeast Africa and extended from the north to the south along Lake Nyasa. Territory of Malawi is plateau broken by tectonic mountain ranges and hollows with prevailing heights 1000-1500 m above sea level. Surface is raised on plateau N'ika on the north of the country, heights reaches 2542 m. East part in the north and in the centre is occupied by a tectonic hollow of Lake Nyasa with huge differences of heights (the lake and the river Shire following from it, lay at height of 200-500m ). In the extreme south towers mountain range Mlandje with the highest point of the country - mountain Sapitva (3000 m).

The head of the state is the president. Legislature is one-chamber National Assembly.
- Climate:
Climate is equatorial, monsoon with dry winter and damp summer seasons. The most of deposits (750-1000 mm per one year in valleys, up to 2500 mm in the most raised mountains) drops out in November - March (summer of the Southern hemisphere). Temperatures of the warmest month (November) change from 20-23?C in mountains up to 27?C in hollows, in July temperatures are cooler - 14-19?C.

Tribal association Malawi has developed, broken after death of its leader Karongi at the end of the 15-century on the territory of Malawi, in area of lake N'jasa. Europeans come here from the second half of 19 century. Since 1891 territory of Malawi is the British protectorate Nyasaland. In 1963 Nyasaland got internal self-management. In 6.07.1964 independence of Malawi was proclaimed. In 1971 president H.K.Banga was proclaimed as the life president and the chapter was proclaimed as the Party of the congress of Malawi. Action of opposition parties was suppressed. Malawi remained the only African state that kept diplomatic relations with the republic of South Africa in years of apartheid in the republic of South Africa. In 1994 multi-party elections of parliament and the president were realized.
