Apple is preparing to release their first app for the Android operating system. It will be online music service, designed to compete with Spotify.
As a base for their first Android application "Apple Empire would be used streaming music service Beats Music, which was acquired last year in conjunction with the company Beats Electronics for $ 3 billion. For Apple it is an unusual step, as previously, the company urged when purchasing a service or startup to discontinue support for the Android version.
As expected, access to the music service will cost about 8 dollars a month, which is cheaper than Spotify and YouTube Music Key, which charge users $ 10, informs the newspaper 9to5Mac.
The title of the latest product until it is told, however, it is known that Apple wants to integrate the service into the operating system iOS, iTunes and Apple TV. With all of this, the company expects to save up for iTunes Match, iTunes Radio and iTunes Store in the form in which they appear in the moment, despite the fact that some features of these services will be similar to the developed product.
Taking into account that the share of Android accounts for about 85% of the market share, Apple could significantly expand the user base of the new service, says Mashable. |
